  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and molasses, mixing well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with hot water.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool before serving.
